Getting to Know Us: A Behind the Brand Story 

Ever wondered what truly defines Goldstar? Our Global Marketing Manager, Lane Hokanson, recently sat down with Halle Moore from PromoCorner at the PPAI tradeshow to chat about our journey—where we started, how we’ve grown, and what’s next. The conversation was too good not to share! 

Goldstar’s journey is something we’re truly proud of. From our humble beginnings in San Diego in the 1960s, we’ve grown into a global brand with a team spread across North America, Europe, and beyond. As we roll out our rebrand this year, it feels like a fresh start—while still staying grounded in the core values that have always defined us. 

We first made a name for ourselves with writing instruments, but we’ve come a long way since then! Today, we’re incredibly proud of our bags, drinkware, and stationery collections. Through it all, we’ve stayed committed to our Simplicity® promise, always with a focus on building meaningful connections. As Lane shares in the interview, “Our messaging is really about growth, sustainability… it’s about that connection—with the planet, with our people, and with our products. 

Halle was curious about the inspiration behind our rebrand, and Lane shared that it’s all about showcasing how far Goldstar has come and our commitment to constantly improving our offerings and service.
